The new year has come and gone, as have many New Year Resolutions. Studies show that nearly 80% of resolutions “fail”, so if you’re one of those people that set intentions and have fallen off the wagon, you’re not alone. The reason this happens so often is because resolutions are set as an all-or-nothing challenge; where the idea is “If I’m going to clean it up come January 1st, I can do whatever I want until then”. Stopping the habit cold turkey and making a complete 180 often doesn’t last long. 

 

What does work is making small changes incrementally. Rather than changing everything all at once, you change one small thing. When that becomes a habit, then you change one more small thing. That pattern continues over and over again until you’ve made that big change. 

 

Using this concept, the nutrition team wants to help you through making those small changes with your nutrition. This is why we are rolling out a Kickstart for you starting this March. This Kickstart is going to give you the skills and accountability you need to establish good nutrition habits.

 

So what even is the Kickstart? Well, it is a 4-week program that holds you accountable. Over the course of the four weeks, you will be adding in new nutrition habits in a building fashion. With the guidance of the nutrition team and the accountability from your peers, we hope to help you make lasting changes.

 

The program rolls out in 4 stages, spread across the 4 weeks. Each week, you’ll be focused on a different goal:

 

  1. Getting adequate hydration and sleep.
  2. Fruit and vegetable intake.
  3. Meeting protein needs.
  4. Cooking the majority of your meals at home.

Each week you embark on a new goal, while also continuing to maintain the goals from the previous weeks. This means that by week 4, you’ll be focusing on eating home cooked meals, but you’ll also be monitoring your hydration, protein, and fruit and vegetable intake.

 

For a total of $40, you’ll get:

  • A “Kickstart Kickoff” – where we will dive into the specifics of the challenge with all of you via a live Zoom meeting.
  • Two group check-ins with a Prototype Nutrition Coach.
  • Access to the Prototype Nutrition Facebook group, where you can discuss the Kickstart with other members and your coaches.
  • Weekly videos addressing your questions and concerns.
  • Accountability and consistency.
  • The kickstart to living a healthier lifestyle.

 

The thing that sets this apart from challenges we’ve had in the past is that this is only the beginning. With this Kickstart, we are here to help you start building the habits that will extend beyond these four weeks. By giving you the tools to make the changes and adding a bit of accountability, we hope to start your journey to reach your nutrition goals!
