Share your CrossFit Prototype experience and fitness journey

I started CrossFit Prototype after a bit of gym fatigue right after college. I was tired of working out by myself at the gym with little direction other than my own research and stuff I had been taught, sort of? I ran a half marathon and wanted to try something else out. I was wrestler in high school and always had an interest in CrossFit. I Started to look into CrossFit gyms, and I had been driving by CFP for a couple of months and the reviews checked out so I stopped in. Here I am 6 or so years later I’ve moved a little further away had a couple job shifts, met my fiancé yet I have always relied on CrossFit. I have learned a lot about working out and the benefits you can gain from it through out your life.

What is your favorite part about being at CFP?

The environment and the community that comes with it. I was always turned off by the cult reputation of CrossFit and maybe afraid of it. However, after being a member at CFP developing the relationships and being part of this community I truly am appreciative and grateful to be able to come here. No matter if I have been coming for three months straight or maybe I haven’t been in for a month. The endless support and structural trash talking will always be there! I told BZ the other day if you can’t come to CFP and let your hair down then what’s the point! Also, being able to work out in the same class as my father and both being able to benefit is something I am very grateful for enjoy very much! Shout PETE!

What are your hobbies and activities?

Boating, Snowboarding, spearfishing, CrossFit, carpentry, enjoy time with family and friends and being outside!

How has (if it has) CFP helped you outside the gym (in sports etc)?

CFP has helped me in snowboarding and spear fishing for sure. My leg strength and stamina when riding is substantially better which results in way more epic days. I free dive spear fish so being physically fit helps swim for extended periods of time sometimes against currents. In general I feel better in life working working on my house performing tasks such as yard work or renovations.

What are you continuing fitness goals to this point?

I want to continue to get better. Stronger faster and build endurance and gain mental strength. Working with Jon on nutrition has been a great informative experience paired with the consistency of showing up. I want to continue to build and make sure I can beat out a few certain people maybe add to that list too, you know who are!

What is your favorite quote?

“Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened” Dr. Seuss, and “This too shall pass”
