1. Share your CrossFit Prototype experience and fitness journey
When the CFP doors opened, 6 years ago, I was starting a new chapter in my life. I had committed myself to saying yes to new opportunities that typically made me uncomfortable! Crossfit was definitely one of them! Timing is everything! I initially went with Sondra Bloch and Kathy Bridge. It sounded more like a play date, so I agreed. I had heard the stories about the crazies of Crossfit. However, Sondra assured me that Mike C. was a wonderful guy and totally knew what he was doing. Not to worry! Previously I had been personal training with a tennis friend of mine Dana, who was doing Crossfit in Worcester. She had been encouraging me to join her in Worcester. But honestly, I was waaaayyyy too intimidated by the fireman and cops that she was doing workouts with…I thought she was nuts 🙂  Funny, how my fitness perspective has changed. I clearly remember complaining when Dana would ask me to do…10 Burpees. Wow, how things have changed!

2. What is your favorite part about being at CFP?
Hands down, my favorite part about being at CFP is the amazing friends and the fantastic community! Being with the 7am-ers and 8am-ers is the perfect way for me to start my day 🙂

3. What are your hobbies and activities?
I love being in nature…sunrises, sunsets…snowshoeing, walking, hiking, travel, meeting up with friends, movies, reading, writing, music, dancing…learning, new experiences. I am grateful to be in business for myself. I love working with people, helping them get unstuck and allow more happiness into their lives!

4. How has (if it has) CFP helped you outside the gym (in sports etc)?
Yes CFP has helped me a lot outside of gym. I played tennis for years, focused on cardio, but never gained overall strength. Now I feel more balanced….functional strength which is something I did not have even 10-15 years ago! When the baggers at the checkout ask me if I need assistance to my care, I always tell them, “I do Crossfit so I can carry my own groceries” 🙂

5. What are you continuing fitness goals to this point?
For me personally, my focus has been on meeting myself wherever I am, on that particular day. Small consistent gains. So far it’s working. Today 15lb PR and felt strong doing it! For me that’s key. Immediate goals for me are stringing T2B and pull ups, kipping and strict.

6. What is your favorite quote?
“You can’t give to another, that which you don’t first give to yourself” and “You have to think greater than the way you feel to make any real, lasting changes” Dr. Joe Dispenza
