Prototype of the Month: Nicki Rohloff

NR

1.) Share you CrossFit Prototype experience and fitness journey

When I returned to New England several years ago, I went from being an active mom who was always outdoors with the kids or working out on my elliptical, to someone who did neither. The results weren’t good. When I finally decided to make a change for the better, I heard about this new CrossFit gym that would be opening in the near future. It sounded awful to me. I had never lifted a weight in my life and was adamant that I was NOT interested in working out with other people. Despite my protests, a friend convinced me to try it for a short time. I relented and now, nearly four years later, working out with my friends at CrossFit Prototype has become an essential part of my day.

2.) What is your favorite part about being at CFP?

I love the social aspect. I look forward to seeing the coaches and everyone in class, and I love how supportive everyone is.

3.) What are you hobbies and activities?

I had a hard time answering this, so I asked my daughter Rylie. According to her, I love coloring, hanging out with the family, and cleaning.

4.) How has (if it has) CFP helped you outside the gym (in sports etc)?

I definitely enjoy being stronger and having more energy. My girls and I love to be active outdoors, so I think we all appreciate that mom is in better shape to hike, bike, etc.

5.) What are you continuing fitness goals to this point?

I don’t plan on running a marathon or hiking Mount Everest, but I do hope that working out and living a healthier lifestyle has become a part of who I am. I know the healthy choices I make are now very much influencing me and my girls, for the better.
