With that said I do have to give a special shout-out to Caitlin Jaeger and Jack Levy (Captains of Miyagi-Do) and Lauren Palmateer and Keivan Russo (Captains of Cobra Kai). They have been INCREDIBLE thus far going above and beyond, making the 2022 Prototype Open SO AWESOME. We want to thank all of you very much!!!!

Prototype Open Challenge 1.1 & 1.2

Each week we will be releasing a challenge that can earn you some additional points for your team. Each challenge will have a time cap to get it done (24 hours for most) and will have multiple levels that you can participate in based on your level of fitness OR how hard you want to work.

Here was challenge 1.1:

This challenge wasn’t easy BUT there was an option for every athlete who signed up to attempt for their team!

Here are some pics:

Here was challenge 1.2:

The cliffhanger challenge was no joke! But so many athletes crushed it!

Now let’s talk about 22.1!

The Prototype Open follows the CrossFit Games Open workouts as they are announced every Thursday afternoon at 3 pm ET. The difference is we have created an Intramural style event which has been going on for the past 7 years that allows all of our members to participate and contribute to a team to crown The Prototype Open Champion!

22.1 was the first Open workout that was announced. 22 refers to the year (2022) and the 1 is week 1… just in case you were wondering😜

21.2 was super sneaky AND a lot harder than many predicted it to be after it was announced.

The great thing that started with last year’s CrossFit Open is that they have multiple versions of the workout that have made it incredibly more inclusive to people, especially since we have been living in a year where many people couldn’t come into a gym.

Here was the workout in case you missed it:

After the announcement of 21.2, our captains represented their teams and went head to head to get The Prototype Open kicked off on the right foot and they did not disappoint! They went LIVE in our Members Only Group on Facebook and got after it!!

Shout out to the two captains Lauren and Caitlin for going head to head to earn some extra points for their team!

After the head-to-head battle royale, everyone had to wait a little longer than normal, due to a snow storm Friday. But it’s ok because the house was PACKED at every class on Monday and nearly EVERYONE got this workout in! And if they didn’t do it on Monday, they got it in at open gym on Sunday (10am-12pm during the Open)!

Here are some pictures from 22.1!

Time to get into 22.2!

Here’s the breakdown of 22.2:

After the 22.2 announcement it was time for another head to head showdown! This time around we had a battle of husband and wife! Garret (G-Man) vs Bethany!

In week 2 there was no snow storm to delay the start of 22.2 on Friday after the head to head Thursday night. It was an awesome showcase of strength and agility. Here are some pics from the workout!!
