Prototype Training Systems, home of CrossFit Prototype, is located at 50 East Main Street in Westborough, MA. We are a 7000 sq/ft boutique training facility offering personal training, large and small group training, nutrition consulting, specialty training, and much more!

Our Goal
Our goal at Prototype Training Systems is to build the GREATEST relationship business for our clients and cultivate the greatest human development culture for our team members. As Maya Angelou said: “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” We are a values-driven facility. Our core values are Family, Integrity, Helping others, Excellence, Fun, and Growth. Every decision we make is based on those values. We are the segue into a healthier, more active lifestyle. That responsibility means introducing clients to new activities, making them comfortable with working out in any environment, and giving them attributes they can display with pride. We believe in hard work.

Our Methodology
Our own hard work will be recognized by our clients and friends and will encourage them to work harder in the face of any challenge. We believe in the prescriptive model, not a one size fits all approach. We prescribe the best programs and services to our clients that will suit both their needs and wants to maximize their results. We believe in the long haul. Continual progress is necessary for self-actualization; if you’re not moving ahead, you’re falling behind. We set milestones and celebrate when they’re reached. And then we reach further. We don’t take ourselves too seriously. We’re comfortable in our skills and can joke about our weaknesses. However, individual growth is integral to the development of both ourselves and our community.

Jon Collette

Jon has been coaching at Prototype since we opened our facility. Outside of owner (his brother Mike Collette) and Head Coach Brian Zancewicz, Jon is the most tenured Coach at Prototype. He originally went to school for graphic design, however, pivoted to go all-in on a career in health and fitness. He launched our Prototype Kids program in 2013, started training and coaching athletes in 2014, and in 2015 he starting coaching clients on how to properly fuel their bodies through nutrition. Jon has worked with hundreds of people just like yourself to get healthy through proper nutrition coaching and exercise.
Outside of the gym, Jon is pretty simple: he loves movies (especially Harry Potter) listening/playing music, and just being outside. If you workout in the early mornings 5 am-8 am we are sure you’ll meet Jon in a class!

Joe is dedicated to helping his athletes reach their weightlifting goals through evidence-based coaching & practices. His holistic approach to coaching helps individuals improve their mind, body and spirit. Joe is the head coach of Prototype Barbell Club, one of the biggest weightlifting clubs in New England. He has coached youth and adult athletes to podium finishes at the national level and numerous New England records. He is passionate about helping folks become their best selves through weightlifting.

Growing up Thomas played many different sports, the main ones being soccer and lacrosse. His drive for improving in athletics led him to exercise in order to improve his fitness. He attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst where he received a Bachelors of Science degree in Kinesiology. After college Thomas started training and competing in jiu jitsu which he still does today. Optimization of human performance, health and growth have become Thomas’ biggest passions and now he wants to turn those passions into a career in which he can help others along the same journey he is on. Thomas values hard work, communication, and staying objective when solving problems in order to help him be an effective personal trainer. Thomas also took courses in engineering and computer programming and continues learning for fun.
In my free time I like to lift weights, play soccer, jiu jitsu, and spend time with friends

Joining us at our inception in 2012, Garret has led hundreds of CrossFit classes and if you are an attendee of your evening classes or our Saturday morning workouts, you will meet Garret for sure! CrossFit has really helped Garret grow both physically and mentally and develop some incredible friendships over the years.

Coach Leah is a CrossFit and Nutrition coach at Prototype. She also is a personal trainer with over 12 years of experience specializing in women’s nutrition and helping people build better relationships with food. One of Leah’s passions is helping people with injuries or obstacles. Leah uses a lot of her experience working in physical therapy and strength and conditioning to help athletes become well-rounded, healthy exercisers across the lifespan. In her spare time, she loves playing the piano, seeing live music, dogs, photography, crafts, and craft beer. 🙂

As Head Coach at Prototype Training Systems, Brian’s goal is to ensure that we as a team fulfill our values to the highest standard possible and continue to help create the greatest relationship business. Brian has been in the fitness industry for over 17 years and has had the great fortune of working and training with some of the top powerlifters and trainers in the area. Prior to being the most tenured team member at Prototype and helping launch in 2012, Brian worked as a Personal Trainer at multiple major fitness facilities in the local area.
Brian’s favorite activities outside of work are helping coach youth sports, more specifically teams his son and daughter are a part of.

After graduating from Westfield State in 2010 with his degree in Exercise Science, Mike worked as a personal trainer, empowering clients and building lifelong relationships. He found CrossFit in 2010 which led him to open Prototype Training Systems (Formerly CrossFit Prototype) in 2012. His passion for fitness and helping others is equal to his passion for being an entrepreneur. Since 2012, Mike has been involved in multiple business ventures ranging from various industries. His values – driven mentality, growth mindset, and obsession with leadership have kept him feeling energized every day to fulfill the vision of Prototype: To build the greatest relationship business ever.
Outside of Prototype, Mike likes to golf with his wife Erin and cuddle with their Siberian Husky puppy, Koda.

Steve Cimino

Steve began his training career shortly after graduating from college with his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. He started exclusively training teams as a skills development coach for the New England Revolution of the MLS. Shortly after signing on with the Revolution skills development program, Steve transitioned to their performance development program. Steve was then promoted to Director of Sports Performance, where he focused on the development and progression of all types of athletes. Now working as a group and personal trainer at Prototype, Steve uses his passion for fitness to push others to succeed. Steve also heads up our Sports Performance department at Prototype and has grown into a leadership role in the organization.

Alex McClintock

Alex originally found CrossFit in 2013, took a few years off, and came back to it in 2017 and it really became a huge passion. She got her CrossFit L1 in September 2021 and started coaching in 2022. She loves seeing athletes progress in the sport and helping them reach their goals. Outside the gym you can find Alex hiking, baking cakes, and doing DIY projects around her house!

Jack graduated from Hopkinton High School, and has been doing Crossfit for six years. He started journey in Crossfit when he was twelve years old in 2016 with his older brother, and fell in love with the sport. Jack has a passion for helping people attain their fitness goals, and loves to see members taking back their health and wellness. As a young teen Crossfit helped Jack to challenge the ever growing influence of social media on young teens. He started out in Coach Jons kids class, and moved up to be a coach at Prototype. Jack now leads part of the fundamentals program, and coaches Crossfit classes as well. You will typically see Jack in the afternoons, but he is usually at the gym everyday.
