Longevity Class — Mobility, Movement & Zone 2 Cardio in Westborough, MA
Our Longevity class at Prototype Training Systems is built around one idea: Live Better, Longer. This one-hour coached class focuses on sustainable fitness strategies designed to promote health, mobility, and vitality at every stage of life — especially for adults ages 45 to 60+.
Every session is low-impact, fully scalable, and led by Coach Brian. The focus is on improving how you move, how you feel, and how well your body holds up over time — not on pushing to exhaustion or chasing a leaderboard. If you've been looking for a fitness class in Westborough that meets you where you are and leaves you feeling better than when you walked in, this is it.
Longevity runs Tuesdays and Fridays from 8:00–9:00 AM at our Westborough facility. No experience required — just show up ready to move.
What Every Longevity Class Covers
Each session follows a structured format built around the three pillars that matter most as we age: mobility, functional movement, and cardiovascular health. Coach Brian programs every class to address all three — so you're building a well-rounded foundation for long-term health, not just checking a box.
Who Longevity Is For
New to Fitness
Never trained in a gym before — or haven't in years? Longevity is designed to be your starting point. Every movement is coached and scaled to your level. There's no intimidation factor here — just a supportive class full of people who are working on the same thing you are.
Active Adults 45–60+
You're not looking to compete — you're looking to stay strong, move well, and feel good for the next 30+ years. Longevity gives you a structured training environment focused on the things that actually matter for long-term health: mobility, cardiovascular fitness, and functional strength.
Supplement Your Training
Already doing CrossFit, personal training, or another program at Prototype? Longevity is the perfect complement. The mobility work, zone 2 cardio, and recovery-focused movement will make you perform better in everything else you do — and help you stay injury-free while doing it.
Why Longevity Training Matters After 45
After age 40, the body loses muscle mass at a rate of roughly 3–5% per decade if you're not actively training to maintain it. Joint mobility decreases. Aerobic capacity declines. Balance and coordination deteriorate. These aren't inevitable consequences of aging — they're consequences of inactivity. And every one of them is trainable.
The Longevity class at Prototype is specifically designed to address these changes head-on. We don't try to make you into a competitive athlete. We focus on the things that actually extend your quality of life: keeping your joints healthy, your heart strong, your muscles functional, and your body moving the way it should.
The research is clear — consistent, low-to-moderate intensity training is one of the most powerful tools available for healthy aging. Zone 2 cardio improves mitochondrial function and metabolic health. Mobility work preserves range of motion and reduces chronic pain. Functional strength training maintains the muscle and bone density you need to stay independent and active for decades to come.
What to Expect in Your First Class
Before your first Longevity class, you'll start with a free No-Sweat Intro — a one-on-one conversation with a coach to talk through your goals, your health history, and any limitations. This way Coach Brian knows exactly who you are before you step into class.
A typical Longevity session starts with a guided warm-up focused on mobility and joint preparation, moves into functional movement patterns or light resistance work, includes a zone 2 cardio segment (think rowing, biking, or walking — at a pace where you can hold a conversation), and finishes with a cool-down and flexibility work. The entire class is one hour, and you'll walk out feeling more mobile and more energized than when you walked in.
Class sizes are kept small so Coach Brian can give you real coaching and attention — not just a group workout where you're left to figure things out on your own.
A Perfect On-Ramp to Group Classes
Many of our Longevity members eventually transition into our Adult Group Classes or add personal training sessions to their routine. Longevity serves as an ideal on-ramp — it builds your movement foundation, improves your conditioning baseline, and gives you the confidence to step into a more challenging training environment when you're ready.
There's no pressure to "graduate" — plenty of members train exclusively in the Longevity class and get exactly what they need. But if you decide you want more, the transition is seamless because you've already been coached by the same team using the same training philosophy.
