24 Heroes in 24 Hours

Support Your Vet’s

By: Mike Collette (Owner of Prototype Training Systems)

A poster for 24 in 24 workouts in 24 hours.

Last year around Veteran’s Day, we participated in an event called TEAMWORK where we raised money for the Navy Seal Foundation by completing 24 Hero Workouts in 24 Hours. Every hour we honored a fallen Navy Seal that gave the ultimate sacrifice.

Honestly, I wasn’t sure if we were going to do this again this year because of COVID-19 and these uncertain times. But last Tuesday morning, after the 5 AM indoor class finished one of our members (you know who you are) came up to me and said “thank you, this is the most normal things have felt in a long time.”

Even though life isn’t back to what “normal” was 12 months ago, that statement really resonated with me. I thought, why can’t we do this? Why can’t we do something that was normal last year but in our new normal? I want you all to feel that same feeling again.

So I made a decision that we are going to do this.

It’s not going to be like it was, but we are going to get as close as possible keeping you all as safe as possible.

Here are the details:

  • The event will take place Saturday November 14th- Sunday, November 15th.
  • Each workout is a partner workout. You can have a team of 2, 3 or 4 to split the workout. Modifying and scaling the workout is encouraged.
  • We will have a LIVE INDOOR workout every hour on the hour from 10 am Saturday 11/14 to 10 am Sunday 11/15.
    • Due to the new guidelines by Governor Baker, we will be holding a LIVE INDOOR workout from 10am-9pm on Saturday and will resume the first LIVE INDOOR workout at 5AM on Sunday. The 9pm,10pm,11pm,12AM,1AM,2AM,3AM and 4AM workouts will be VIRTUAL ONLY.

  • We will also be running a continuous VIRTUAL option for every workout throughout the 24 hours.
  • There is a 4 workout cap. In order to regulate and prevent potential overuse injuries, we are capping the number of workouts you can do to 4. If you would like to do more than 4 workouts, please consult with a Prototype coach.
  • The LIVE INDOOR workouts will be capped at 10 people to limit the number working out at Prototype and to allow for easy clean up between workouts.
  • We are promoting an optional pledge/donation to The Fisher House. We are a community that has many veterans in various branches of the military. It’s important for us to get alignment and help as many people as possible! The Fisher House supports active and veteran military members and their families. They provide housing while loved ones are in the hospital. They also provide air miles so family members can visit injured service members. It’s an awesome organization and we hope you can support! The link to donate is here and also in the google sheet on a separate tab titled “PLEDGE AMOUNT” to sign up for 24 Heroes!
  • Use the link here to reserve your spot for a LIVE INDOOR class and/or to sign up for a Virtual spot.
  • We also would like you to reserve your spot on WODIFY (7 days in advance)!

Lastly, I want you all to know that we greatly appreciate your participation in this. It not only means a lot to us and the community at Prototype, but it means a lot to those that you are honoring and helping by participating.

See you then!

Tim has been an incredible part of our community — always positive, funny, generous, and willing to help. His energy makes everyone around him better. Prototype of the Month is well deserved! Below he answers some questions about his time at PTS. 1.) Share your experience at Prototype This actually isn’t my first stint at Prototype - I’ve been around and worked out here a few times in my heyday. My very first legitimate class though, as a member, was 5am earlier this year and I was welcomed first by Nicole. You can all imagine how that interaction went… and I came back! Prototype is welcoming, fun, clean, and I’ve made amazing friends along the way. It is one of the best hours of my day. 2.) What is your favorite part about being at Prototype? Prototype is not just another workout but a mental reset for me, it fills my cup. 3.) What are your hobbies and activities? Activities mostly involve time with my family outside whenever we can, trips to Ptown and traveling all over for work. I have a hard time sitting still and typically keep a busy schedule. Mix in photography and interior design opportunities with fitness and family and I’d say that's my perfect mix. 4.) How has Prototype helped you or solved a problem for you? I work remotely so in person face to face conversation is something I’ve found I need for my mental health. I’m also super competitive so I tend to push a little harder when I workout with others. 5.) What are you continuing fitness goals to this point? I want to be a parent who can show up for their kids in every aspect of life, which also means physically. Staying fit is important to be able to keep up with them as we collectively get older. I am training for a few Hyrox races coming up but mostly just trying to maintain my current level of fitness for as long as possible. 6.)
