Client Story: Callie Smith

The picture included above is Callie writing on our #Gratitude board earlier this year. She wrote that this was the best thing she’s ever done!

Meet Callie.

Callie is 83 years YOUNG and has been active her entire life.

We love talking about Callie because she inspires all of us.

Callie came to Prototype Training Systems  6 years ago because her daughter Rebecca ( @rebeccaw195 ) encouraged her to try out a CrossFit class.

She was hesitant at first because she didn’t think she would be able to it.

Most of us look at things we’ve never done as scary but sometimes those end up being the best decisions made.

Luckily, Callie trusted Rebecca and she is still physically able to do functional movements pain-free.

COVID has been a scary time for a lot of people, but Callie stuck with her fitness.

Prior to COVID, Callie trained with Coach Jon 1-1.

Callie now trains twice a week for 30-minute sessions (virtually) with Jon. Her daughter Reb joins her because “the technology thing isn’t her thing!”

Callie told Jon a story during a personal training session about something that happened at her last doctor’s appointment. Callie was sitting and talking with her doctor and then was asked to get weighed. She stood up and her doctor was in shock! He couldn’t believe that she was able to stand up without grabbing onto a railing or put her hands on her leg.

Callie has always prioritized exercise and nutrition and it shows how important building these habits early in life pay dividends as we age!

We don’t just one day wake up and aren’t able to move. Living an active life and eating well is how you can be strong just like Callie!

And it’s clear these values have been passed on…

Her daughter Reb continues to workout in our CrossFit classes at Prototype almost daily.

Her son in law (Reb’s husband Rich) does 1-1 training with Coach Joe on a weekly basis and is crushing it!

Her grandson Timmy started training with us in our kid’s classes in 2013 and has become an absolute machine!

You’re amazing Callie. We appreciate you putting your trust in us! You’re the true hero of your fitness journey!

Kathy has been an amazing member of the PTS community for 12 years and an incredible part of our community. Here, she shares her journey with Prototype. Thank you for being you — you truly deserve to be our July POM! 1.) Share your experience at Prototype I love Prototype. I knew Mike and Brian from BSC and Mike approached me one day, saying that he thought I would really love a crossfit workout. Naturally, I thought he was out of his mind. I have loved every minute of my time for the past 12 years. 2.) What is your favorite part about being at Prototype? The community. No matter what class I take, everyone is warm and welcoming. It isn’t always easy to walk into a new class, at Prototype that is never an issue for me. 3.) What are your hobbies and activities? I love to travel. I enjoy hiking, walking, tennis and swimming. 4.) How has Prototype helped you or solved a problem for you? When I am at Prototype, I can block out the noise of the world around me and just breathe. 5.) What are you continuing fitness goals to this point? My dad lived until 101.5 years old. He always did some form of exercise and it paid off for him. My goals are to continue to be active, get on the floor with my grandchildren and be able to get up. I really feel that exercising is akin to making a deposit for the future. There will come a time when I will have to make some withdrawals, and I want to have enough deposits to cover those withdrawals. 6.)
